This applies to all members, attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers (collectively “**Participants**”). ### Our Standard theDevArmy is dedicated to providing a positive, inclusive, and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, religion, nationality, or technical experience level. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. All communication should be appropriate for a professional yet "cool" tech environment encompassing people from diverse backgrounds. ### Expected Behaviour We encourage behavior that strengthens the Indian hackathon ecosystem: * **Use Inclusive Language**: Whether in a PR comment or at a catering line. * **Respect Differing Viewpoints**: Technical debates are healthy; personal attacks are not. * **Graceful Feedback**: Accept constructive criticism on your code or conduct with an open mind. * **Empathy**: Remember that every "expert" was once a "beginner." Support those just starting their journey. ### Unacceptable Behaviour The following are strictly prohibited in both physical and digital spaces: * **Harassment**: Including trolling, insulting, or derogatory comments. * **Inappropriate Content**: The use of sexualized language or imagery in presentations, chat channels, or project names. * **Violation of Privacy**: Photography, recording, or "doxing" (sharing private info) of Participants without explicit consent. * **Disruption**: Sustained disruption of talks, workshops, or community chat flow. * **Unwanted Contact**: Inappropriate physical contact offline, or persistent, unwelcome DMs online. * **Dishonesty**: Plagiarism or "cheating" during hackathons (using pre-existing projects without disclosure). ### Space-Specific Provisions #### Online Community Participants must use appropriate channels for discussions. Spamming and unsolicited self-promotion are considered disruptive behaviour. #### Physical Events Participants are responsible for their own actions and must respect the venue rules. ### Media Consent By attending a theDevArmy offline Event, you represent that you understand and agree to the following: * **Capture & Use**: theDevArmy will be taking photographs and recording videos during the Event. These media assets will be used on our social media channels, website, and for future promotional purposes. * **Grant of Rights**: By your attendance, you grant us the consent to capture and use your image and video footage. * **Opt-Out**: We respect your privacy. If you do not wish for your image or video to be used, you must notify an organizer in advance or at the registration desk so we can ensure you are excluded from recordings and photographs. ### Enforcement & Legal theDevArmy reserves the exclusive right to make final decisions regarding CoC violations. This includes: * **Warnings**: For minor first-time infractions. * **Removal**: Immediate expulsion from an Event or a permanent ban from digital servers. * **Legal Action**: In situations involving physical safety or criminal activity, theDevArmy will contact local law enforcement. All such cases will proceed in accordance with the Constitution of India. ### Reporting an Incident If you feel unsafe or notice a violation: * **Urgent (Offline)**: Speak directly to venue security or a theDevArmy team member. * **Urgent (Online)**: Tag a Moderator or use the community reporting tool. * **Non-Urgent**: Email us at . * **Life Threatening**: Dial 100 (Police) or 112 (Emergency) immediately. ### Right to Amend theDevArmy reserves the right to modify, delete, or add any provisions to this Code of Conduct at its sole discretion and without prior notice. ### NO HARASSMENT Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated at the hackathon. This includes, but is not limited to: * Offensive or discriminatory verbal comments. * Public display of sexually explicit material in shared spaces. * Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or targeted harassment. * Willful disruption of events or activities. * Inappropriate physical contact. * Unwelcome sexual advances. * Taking photographs, audio, or video recordings without the subject’s consent. All participants are expected to contribute to a safe, respectful, and harassment-free environment. Violations may result in immediate removal from the event. ### MEDIA CONSENT By attending HackOps, participants acknowledge that photos, videos, and recordings may be taken during the event for promotional purposes. These materials may be used in social media, marketing, or future hackathon promotions. If you have concerns or wish to opt out, please inform the organizers in advance. ### HACKATHON RULES By attending HackOps, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and will adhere to the Hackathon Rules. Any violation may result in disqualification or removal from the event.
